Hence, it is necessary that reference models offer the latest domain knowledge. Al-though there is much literature on the initial reference model creation, hardly anything has been said about the maintenance of reference models. This paper in- troduces a procedure model for updating reference models with regard to the implicit knowledge that is implemented in ERP software. The model uses the domain-specific know- how acquired by software development companies.
